The WiseStella platform

Singapore-based OHC Shipmanagment Pte Ltd has integrated the WiseStella platform into its operations to enhance fleet management, regulatory compliance, and crew competencies.

The decision follows a comprehensive gap analysis implemented in December 2024 to assess the company’s alignment with SIRE 2.0, TMSA 3, SOLAS, MARPOL, and the ISM Code. The findings identified key areas for improvement, including documentation, training, risk assessment, and technological integration.

“The WiseStella platform has exceeded our expectations,” said Capt. Roland Sinnadurai, General Manager of OHC. “It provides the structured approach we need to analyse procedures and make improvements. By integrating the WiseStella tools, we are taking decisive steps toward meeting and exceeding industry standards.”

OHC, which operates a fleet of sixteen tanker vessels, three of which actively serve major oil companies, has faced a particular challenge in adapting to the enhanced requirements of OCIMF SIRE 2.0. The updated framework introduces new inspection requirements with a focus on risk crew competency and documentation accuracy.

“SIRE 2.0 is more detailed than its predecessor, and ensuring our fleet meets every criterion demands a more systematic approach,” Sinnadurai said. “Maintaining accurate records is a challenge, but a necessary one. WiseStella’s system automates and standardises these procedures allowing us to pass vetting inspections and remain attractive to charterers.”

WiseStella, an AI-driven fleet management platform, has been instrumental in addressing SIRE 2.0 challenges. The system provides real-time compliance tracking, automated risk assessment, and structured training programs to strengthen operational readiness.

“The reality is that many crew members struggle with the English-language requirements of SIRE 2.0,” Sinnadurai said. “That’s why our partnership with WiseStella is so important – it provides the level of training, competency assessment insights we need to reinforce crew knowledge, competencies and ship safety.”

In addition to WiseStella’s SIRE 2.0 guidance, OHC is using the platform’s Behavioural Competency Assessment (BCA) tool to evaluate crew skills and track progress.

“The platform’s digital training modules ensure continuous development, equipping staff and crew with the expertise needed to maintain high standards. Maritime safety isn’t static – it’s an evolving challenge, so a system capable of real-time insight helps maintain the highest operational standards.”

Ferhat Abul, Managing Director of WiseStella, emphasised the platform’s role in modernising ship management strategies.

“Our goal is to equip shipowners with the tools they need to manage ship and crew safety and efficiency effectively. WiseStella’s data-driven approach enables companies like OHC to bridge the gap between regulatory expectations and practical implementation, ensuring fleet performance remains effective, compliant and, above all, safe.”

The integration of WiseStella supports OHC’s broader vision of becoming a leading ship management company for small tankers. The company’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and regulatory excellence aligns with its long-term objectives of achieving zero incidents and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

OHC began using WiseStella in January 2025, initially focusing on the gap analysis between SIRE 2.0 and TMSA requirements. As implementation progresses, the company continues to refine policies, standardize procedures, and enhance its compliance framework.
